Making Netball Engaging and Inclusive in the Primary Years
This engaging practical session will provide teachers and school coaches a taster of the new and improved Sporting Schools Netball Primary Program (Foundation to Year 6), launched through Sporting Schools in 2026. This program has undergone testing in schools, and input from a range of stakeholders to be more engaging and inclusive, and curriculum aligned.
Gain insight into how Netball Australia has approached modifications to traditional netball to add to your toolkit when delivering Netball. – Feel confident to deliver a Sporting Schools Netball Primary Program to their students, – Learn about game and equipment modifications to make netball more inclusive and developmentally appropriate, – Use resources available within the Sporting Schools Netball Primary product to support teaching and learning within Netball.

Jessica Baddeley
Jess Baddeley is an experienced leader in Health and Physical Education (HPE) and English teacher with over 14 years of experience working across a wide range of school contexts holding a variety of leadership roles in both curriculum and wellbeing. She is passionate about empowering young people to flourish through education, wellbeing, and sport. Jess holds a master’s degree in leadership and wellbeing, which underpins her strength based, relational approach to teaching,
mentoring, and leadership.Throughout her career, Jess has made a meaningful impact in Health and Physical Education and Sport, including teaching VCE Health and Human Development, where she supports students to develop deep understanding, critical thinking, and positive attitudes toward lifelong health and wellbeing. Her dual teaching background allows her to connect physical, social, and emotional learning with strong communication and reflective skills.
Beyond the classroom, Jess is deeply committed to community sport. She holds leadership roles within her local netball club, where she advocates for inclusive, supportive, and values driven sporting environments. She is a passionate mentor
who believes in the power of sport to build confidence, connection, and resilience in young people.Jess is known as a positive, strength based leader who prioritises wellbeing, relationships, and growth.
