About ACHPER South Australia

The Australian Council for Health, Physical Education and Recreation, South Australian Branch (ACHPER SA) is the lead professional association for teachers and kindred educators in the Health and Physical Education (HPE) learning area and related fields. Founded in 1978, ACHPER SA is a not-for-profit, incorporated organisation that provides programs, services and information for education sites and the communities, focussed on active and healthy living. 

ACHPER SA provides advocacy and leadership through innovative, quality professional services and programs. ACHPER SA is a dynamic and progressive association that supports educators, coaches, schools and individuals through conferences, resources, mentoring and networking opportunities to enhance quality movement experiences.

Our work is delivered in collaboration with government, academia and school teachers. 

Throughout 2021, the ACHPER SA Board, in conjunction with our members and stakeholders, updated our strategic plan which sets the directions and pillars for ACHPER SA's ongoing work promoting active and healthy living.

Advocate: ACHPER SA to develop key messages and implement strategies to advocate to Government, Members and Stakeholders

Educate: ACHPER SA to offer innovative and dynamic Professional Learning opportunities

Engage: ACHPER SA to increase our market share and engage more people to participate in ACHPER SA activities

Resource: ACHPER SA to provide dynamic and supportive materials to the HPE community

 

ACHPER provides up to date information on strategies, research, policy information and projects aimed at creating community awareness about a healthy lifestyle. Useful resources are a major part of membership. These resources include The ACHPERTISER State newsletter which updates ACHPER SA activities, social media updates including member only Facebook groups, member only webinars, member only networking events and a National Publication (Active & Healthy Magazine).
