Kristen Skinner

Kristen is a marketing, business development consultant with an extensive background in stakeholder management to drive growth. Kristen has sourced and secured mutually beneficial business partnerships for over 25 years spanning education, corporate, sport and professional associations.

Kristen has always led an active lifestyle and enjoys regular participation in dance, yoga, pilates and nature walks. A Calisthenics Coach and National Calisthenics Adjudicator, Kristen developed and piloted a modified “Califit” program which is enjoyed by many participants today. She coaches weekly sessions for the positive social and health benefits it creates.

Kristen is a sales and marketing consultant and has been the key collaborator behind numerous successful partnerships and innovative sponsorships. With a reputation for her ability to connect with clients and stakeholders to create impactful, long-lasting partnerships in the education sector, Kristen founded two consulting firms Sponsorship Matters and Eddee which specialise in helping organisations and schools to develop creative strategies that enhance their market presence and foster community engagement.

Outside of her consulting work, Kristen also has a role at HTAV as Manager, Partner Relationships. She is an advocate for healthy, active living and lifelong learning and for equitable access to quality education to give kids the best start in life.

Anja van Aswegen

Anja van Aswegen is an educator with experience in teaching mainstream, special, EAL, and gifted cohorts of students at schools, private programs, and volunteer settings. She works as a Primary school classroom teacher within the Queensland education system. Recently, she has undertaken a Masters of Education and Professional Studies Research at Griffith University. Her thesis, which she is presenting at this conference, explores formalised sex education in Australia – a topic of passion and interest.

Russell Brown

ACHPER President

Russell is the President of ACHPER Australia, now leading the organisation following the outstanding tenure of Dr. Sue Whatman. Russell has been a member of ACHPER since 1975 and was awarded Life Membership in 2006.

He has been a lecturer in Physical Education and Health at Flinders University since 1990.
