Melisa is a health and physical education (HPE) academic within the University of Southern Queensland and research on health-related work of teachers.
Melisa participates regularly in physical activities. On a regular day, she is working out in the gym, hiking, playing tennis or pickleball. Further, as a supporter of women’s sport, she enjoys watching sport, specifically tennis and women’s soccer (go Chelsea!). As a health and physical education academic, she hopes to extend this passion for physical activities to the initial teacher educators who would influence their future students to become active citizens.
Melisa is a health and physical education (HPE) academic within the University of Southern Queensland and research on health-related work of teachers. She teaches the health and physical education curriculum in both the undergraduate and postgraduate programs engaging in program design, online and face to face teaching and is the academic integrity lead within the School of Education. She has been part of the health promoting schools committee within ACHPER and prior experience includes teaching HPE and Mathematics in schools locally and internationally.

Dr lisahunter, from Monash University, brings four decades of ACHPER involvement spanning teaching, leadership and research. Their work champions equity, diversity and ecosocial justice in HPE, strengthening research partnerships, First Peoples-led initiatives, and collaboration across education and community sectors.
Hugh is a Senior Lecturer in Health and Physical Education at Queensland University of Technology, with extensive experience in teacher education, curriculum development, assessment moderation and school leadership. An ACHPER Fellow, he serves on state and national committees advancing health and physical education.
Dr Joe Scott is a Senior Lecturer in Health and Physical Education at University of the Sunshine Coast. His research focuses on designing and implementing innovative school and community strategies that empower young people to lead healthy, active lifestyles and reduce chronic disease risk.
As Chair of the Health Promoting Schools Committee, Melisa leads ACHPER’s engagement in health education. Drawing on her research, she understands educators’ challenges and aims to develop practical strategies that support effective health-promoting practices without increasing teacher workload
As CEO of Foodcore, Megan drives initiatives that leverage the power of nutrition to improve wellbeing, strengthen communities, and create healthier food environments. She is committed to increasing access to nutritious food and building the skills and confidence to prepare it for group both big and small, as well as families.
